We schedule guided self-drive tours to various destinations and although the places we visit differ vastly from each other, the one thing that all scheduled tours have in common is that the itinerary will take you where few other have been before.
On the scheduled tours the convoy is led by a fully equipped guide vehicle and if you do not own a 4x4 vehicle we can arrange transport on your behalf. All vehicles in the convoy are fitted with a two-way radio enabling the guide to share his knowledge of the environment with you and making it possible for all participants to communicate with each other during the journey. Our scheduled itineraries include the famous landmarks of the area visited but also includes the lesser known spots not frequented by the masses ensuring a memorable experience. (All scheduled itineraries are also available as an exclusive tailor-made package)
Catering - You Choose
On all our 2011 Scheduled Tours you will have the option to choose between a catered or a self-catering option. The catered option will include all dinners on tour as well as coffee, tea and rusks served in the morning. Dinners include at least a starter and a main course and on some occasions a dessert will be served as well. See the "Rates" section under each tour for details.
Rugged mountains, deep river valleys, boulder-strewn slopes and semi-desert plains merge in the northwestern corner of Namibia to create a wild and unspoiled wilderness, the Kaokoveld. This remote area is home to the Himba who follow the same way of life as they have done for centuries. Here, too, you will find the famous desert dwelling elephants, along with black rhino, giraffe, gemsbok, springbok, kudu and even lion.
The adventure starts in the in the heart of the Sandveld, continues through the unfenced Khaudum National Park before entering the Caprivi Wetland paradise...
The Sandveld is home to the San, hunter-gatherers which were probably the first inhabitants of Namibia. Then there’s the Khaudum National Park, an unfenced wilderness area bordering Botswana and home to several big game species and a multitude of birds. Predators include lion, leopard, spotted hyaena, African wild-dog and jackal. The Khaudum is also the stronghold of Namibia’s roan antelope population. Large waterholes and pleasant evenings around the campfire will be remembered long after the dust has settled.
The sand of Bushmanland then gives way to marshlands, swamps, waterways and spectacular rivers as we spend some time on the banks of the Okavango River. Continuing further east we visit a variety of game parks while crossing numerous, streams, rivers and swamps. Expect exceptional birding, spectacular sunsets and a large variety of game. There will even be time for fishing on the Okavango-, Kwando- and Zambezi Rivers. The adventure ends either on the banks of the Linyanti - or Zambezi River, depending on the flood levels and the accessibility of the Mamili National Park.
Zambia offers an alluring range of attractions, from the spectacular Victoria Falls to prolific wildlife amidst some of Africa’s best national parks. Our adventure will start on the banks of the Okavango River in the Caprivi region of Namibia and will end on the western bank of the Zambezi River just north of Katima Mulilo. Highlights of this epic adventure include a camp on the Kwando River, tiger fishing on the Zambezi, crossing the Barotse Floodplains, witnessing the gathering of thousands of thousands of Blue Wildebeest on the vast Liuwa plains and crossing the Zambezi River by ferry...We’ll follow a less travelled road through the Sioma Ngwezi National Park on the Angolan/Zambian border and visit places not frequented by the masses ensuring an enriching experience made special by the remoteness and sheer beauty of Zambia’s less known western corner...
